Line robots
igus offers flat linear robots, line robots and room linear robots for a wide range of tasks. igus linear robots contain pre-configured Apiro linear modules and linear axes with igus stepper motors as well as all the components required for self-assembly.
Application examples
Typical applications for our room linear robots are pick & place, conveyor belt picking and stacking tasks in three-dimensional space. The room linear robot usually provides the platform on which our customers set up their application. In combination with a gripper or suction cup, picking tasks can be implemented very quickly.
Control system
The igus Robot Control allows for simple and intuitive robot control and programming, offering an easy way to get started with automation. The modular design makes it possible to control different igus kinematics, such as delta robots. Operators can use our igus® Robot Control with all its advantages to control the linear robot.
The free-of-charge, licence-free igus Robot Control software is integrated into the control system and thus based on a uniform operating concept and consistent communication services for many components of a system. This results in reduced project planning effort and faster commissioning.
The igus Robot Control is not part of the product and can be purchased from us as an option. A master control system is not necessary.
You can also use your own (robot) control system.
Alternatively, you can operate each axis individually with a control system, e.g. our igus® D1 dryve motor control system. This control system architecture requires one motor control system per linear axis or motor and an additional master control system that controls the coordination of the movement. You must then program the inverse kinematics for the delta robot yourself in your development environment.
The motor control systems are not part of the product and can be purchased from us as an option. igus does not offer a master control system at the moment.
Optional accessories
Initiators, connection cables, energy chains and control system are available upon request.
Further information
The maximum load capacity is 1.5kg. This places considerable strain on the motor of the Z-axis and increases wear. If you are unsure whether you can use the product as desired, please don't hesitate to reach out. We can offer you different sizes with strokes of up to 625mm and a load capacity of 1.5kg. Please feel free to contact us or use our linear-robot configurator (beta).
