Heavy-duty disc harrow

This disc harrow works reliably in dirty and dusty conditions thanks to liners and shafts.

This disc harrow can easily adjust to any width. Thus, for example, rows in vineyards of differing widths can be worked with no elaborate assembly. To do this, the tools are synchronized hydraulically. Since the sliding bearing should be maintenance-free, precise, compact, durable and highly resilient, liners were mounted directly in the passages of the machine frame. Shafts run through this guide, to which the rows of discs are fastened.

Profile

  • What was needed: tribo-tape liners, drylin shaft guides
  • Requirements: The sliding bearing was expected to be maintenance-free, precise, space-saving, durable and very resilient. It must also be able to withstand the high levels of dirt and dust generated during use.
  • Industry: Agriculture
  • Success for the customer: tribo-tape liners made of iglidur can be easily bonded to surfaces that slide against each other, protect during movement and save energy at the same time. drylin shaft guides are robust, particularly load-bearing and corrosion-resistant.
Disc harrow

Problem

These disc harrows are used especially in vineyards. If the soil is cultivated for vineyards, a disc harrow that can be flexibly adjusted in width is required. This is because the tool must be designed for tracks of different widths. For this working width adjustment and adaptation to different row widths, the two rows of tools are hydraulically pushed against each other. Due to the tough field of application, which is characterised above all by a high level of dirt and dust, the individual rows of discs require a particularly efficient sliding bearing. Specifically, the aim was to find a bearing that was maintenance-free, precise, space-saving, very resilient, easy to produce and durable under the tough operating conditions.

Solution

As the sliding bearing had to be maintenance-free, precise, space-saving, durable and very resilient, tribo-tape liners were installed directly in the orifices of the machine frame. tribo-tape liner made of iglidur high-performance plastics is suitable for lining tribologically stressed surfaces and shapes, for optimising transport tasks, for machine beds, as edge protection, etc. It can be simply glued to surfaces that slide against each other, which are protected when moving and save energy at the same time.
The drylin shafts, on which the respective row of discs is guided and fastened, run in the guide using a liner. The shafts, which can be made of aluminium, steel or stainless steel, are characterised in particular by their high corrosion resistance and load-bearing capacity.
